Dusty Jo Jones has lived the struggles too many Oklahomans face. Raised in poverty, she was caring for her younger sisters by the age of seven, surviving abuse at home, and working jobs as early as nine to help her family get by. Those early hardships taught her the grit and resilience that still guide her today.
Over the next 24 years, Dusty Jo built a successful career in automotive accounting, rising from title clerk to Controller for multiple business locations. Along the way, she earned a cosmetology license to ensure she could provide for herself and remain independent, no matter what life threw her way. Her story is one of perseverance, hard work, and fighting through obstacles that would have stopped most people.
Today, Dusty Jo is also a caregiver for her sister, a cancer survivor, and a relentless advocate for working families. She’s running for State Representative because she believes the working people of District 49 deserve a leader who knows their struggles firsthand and who will fight tirelessly for opportunity, dignity, and justice.
“I’m not a career politician, I’m a survivor. And I understand the real world cost of rising prices at the grocery store, the doctor's office, and on our insurance bills. We need someone who works for us, not the big city elites. As your state representative, I'll never stop fighting for my neighbors right here in House District 49.”
Dusty Jo’s priorities are clear: raising wages so no full-time worker lives in poverty, investing in public schools to lift our state out of the bottom in education, expanding access to affordable healthcare and mental health services, and standing up for the dignity of every Oklahoman.

A full-time job should mean security, not poverty. Let's raise minimum wage and reform tax laws so working families and small businesses come first, not the elites.

50th in education is unacceptable. Let's invest in teachers, raise pay, and ensure every child has access to quality public schools. Also, let's get the price of college down so our kids have more opportunities than we did.

No Oklahoman should lose their life because an insurance company needs to make a profit. If we're paying for it, we should get something for our money, including coverage for dental, vision, and mental health care.

Mental health care doesn't only belong in the big cities. We should support those in need, including survivors of domestic violence, with stronger protections and emergency resources close to home.

The Legislature is slowly peeling back the voice of the people. Thanks to them, small rural counties are now limited in how many people can sign a petition. We deserve better!
